This non-fiction title for children will help teach them how to speak, read and write in basic Japanese language. It is written in a picture book style format and kids can follow along with the characters Emily, Nico, and Teo, who while sitting on the grass after school, minding their own business, come across a giant talking fox dressed in a kimono. Explaining that he knows magic, speaks many languages and is respected as a sensei (Master), he wonders if the three children are ready to learn the Japanese language from him. During the next pages, the three friends learn to speak, read, and write the basics ... while also taking breaks to try Japanese hot-spring baths, sumo wrestling, Zen meditation, and more. That's how their Japanese language adventure starts, with lessons presented as Manga stories, which help to make the learning experience fly. Plenty of practice challenges are included from writing Japanese language characters, to saying simple Japanese sentences, to reading a letter that is completely written in Japanese, and more.
