The Emu Plains Agricultural Establishment operated from 11 September 1819 until 31 August 1832. It was established by Lachlan Macquarie to take the high number of surplus convicts in the colony as well as new arrivals. This book looks at the history of the Emu Plains convict farm, describing what life was like on the farm and the background of the superintendents and the principal men who worked there. This revised edition contains an extensive list of convicts.
