A social geographic analysis of the demographic, housing, socio-economic, gender and ethnic dimensions of metropolitan Sydney.Based on the 1986 Australian Census of Population and Housing, it looks at population change within a range of groups.

Details the characteristics of population and dwellings for the Sydney area drawn from the Census taken on 30th June 1981.

Presents colour maps of the key social, demographic and economic characteristics of Sydney, at the time of the census. The maps are easy to interpret as the distribution of the data are represented by different colours or shadings.
