Westbourne Guesthouse was built around 1910 and was originally located on Greendale Road. It was operated by Mrs Kirwan and later by Jane Crossman and family. Westbourne was considered the elite guest house, through advertising that they had superior accommodation. Its hosts in the Crossman family era was said to have kept a strict eye on the welfare of the guests. Mrs Jane Crossman made “Westbourne” available for many charitable events, especially Wallacia School fundraising. It had its own ballroom and orchestra, providing dances and balls. It was demolished around 1974.
