The engine is seen exiting the southern portal of Glenbrook Tunnel. The Glenbrook Tunnel was part of the 1892 single-track deviation, which bypassed the Lapstone Zig Zag. It opened on 18 December 1892, however the steep gradient prove unsuitable due to trains slipping on the rails and poor ventilation. The tunnel was closed on 25 September 1913 following the construction of the Glenbrook Gorge deviation.
