Computers & Printing

Public Computers

General internet access including shopping, banking, educational, employment and government sites, and PC usage is free and unlimited for Library members and non-members.

Library members receive one hour of free full internet access, which includes social media and streaming sites. Access after the complimentary period is charged at the rate of $3.00 per hour.

For non-library members full internet access is charged at $4.50 per hour, with no complimentary period.

Bookings are not required.

Wi-Fi is provided for free at all library branches.



Printing, Photocopying and Scanning

Penrith City Libraries offer self-service printing, copying and scanning across all our branches. You can print from one of our computers, from a USB, from your own device within the library, or send from home. 

Print from home

To print from home, go to webprint.penrith.city

Select your files and upload the document. Visit any library to collect your print jobs. Print jobs stay in the queue for 24 hours or until released.

Email to print

Email the document to penrith@monitorlibrary.au after removing any unwanted attachments. The document will be added to the print queue and a job release code will be emailed back to you.

While scanning is free, there are fees and charges for copying and printing.

Laptop Loan and Smart Locker

Who: Library members
Where: Penrith City Library & St Marys

Library Laptops are available to loan for free within the Library at Penrith and St Marys to Library members for up to two hours per day.
Laptops are supplied with office software and a choice of browsers, and will only work on the Penrith City Council Guest Wi-Fi network.

When returned, all the data on the laptop will be wiped. You should ensure that you’ve saved any work.

Smart Lockers are available to charge your device via a USB-C connection.

 

Digital Literacy

Penrith City Library staff can offer support (or assistance) with minor technology issues such as:

• Printing, webprint and scanning 
• Using your device 
• Connecting to our free Wi-Fi 
• Searching the Internet 
• Using Libby by Overdrive audio, eBook and eMagazine service 
• Using IndyReads and Beamafilm and other subscription services offered by the Library 
• Using Transparent Language Online, the library's language learning service. 
• Help with new technology 

Customers are encouraged to bring along their own equipment for digital literacy support. Technical faults on customer devices will need to be referred to the relevant manufacturer or a service technician.

For longer sessions , up to one hour is offered on an individual appointment basis. See below for more details.

Tech Help


Book a one hour, one on one training session on Tech Tuesday at Penrith City Library, or Web Wednesday at St Marys Library. 

Tech help topics may include:

• Creating and using an email account 
• Creating documents 
• Attaching files and photos 
• Using subscription library resources 
• Downloading and streaming content like movies, books, and audiobooks, and more. 
• Using your device 
• Searching the Internet 

Bookings are essential. Call 4732 7891, go to my.penrith.city to submit a request, or see one of our friendly staff at any of the library branches.
