The first G.P.S. (Greater Public Schools) rowing regatta was held in 1936. It was held annually on the river until the event moved to the Sydney International Regatta Centre at the Penrith Lakes in 1996. This view has been taken from the western bank of the river looking north east towards Victoria Bridge and the Penrith Rail Bridge.
