In the early 1920s Sir Joynton Smith, Lord Mayor of Sydney, bought the land alongside the Nepean River and built what was originally known as the Log House. In 1939 it was renovated and extended and renamed the Log Cabin Hotel. The postcard was published by J. S. Pty Ltd.
