This memorial cairn is located on the western side of Luddenham Road, near South Creek. It is located on the site of Gregory Blaxland's farm from which, on 11 May 1813, he set off to cross the Blue Mountains with William Wentworth and William Lawson. It was erected in 1938, to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the crossing and the 150th anniversary of European settlement in the colony. The stone used in the cairn came from Regentville House.
