Robert was the son of Eric and Marie Cuckson. They had immigrated to Australia in 1949 arriving in Sydney in the December. Eric was the founder of the Cuckson's factory at St. Marys which made zippers and tape. They had three children Barbara, Robert and Margaret and lived at St Marys near the factory.
