Caley's repulse is a cairn of stones at Linden in the Blue Mountains. It was named for explorer and botanist George Caley, who reportedly was never even in the area. It became a recognisable landmark for travellers along Cox's Road. Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth mention the cairn in the journals of their 1813 exploration,as did G Evans, although they all attributed it to George Bass. It was William Cox who first attributed it to Caley.
