Archives
The approach from Henry Street to the new Evan Street bridge is shown in the picture. The bridge provided an access to the Lemongrove area of Penrith across the western railway line. The bridge opened 3rd March 1962 by the Hon J. M. A. McMahon, M.L.A., Minister for Transport. The public is invited to attend. In the left foreground is the Boys' Public School, which was built in 1872, and is now part of the Infants' Department. The old Girls' School' and Infants' School, which are slightly west of the building, also form part of the present Infants' Department.
