This photograph is of Nepean Rescue Squad with Gerry Buchtmann (second from left) and Sir Eric Willis NSW Premier (4th from left) in 1976. Nepean Rescue Squad (NRS) was formed in 1975. It later changed its name to the Volunteer Rescue Association (VRA) and is now part of the NSW State Emergency Service. Staff involved with the Granville train disaster received medals for their gallant efforts.
