The electric lighting station was built on a piece of land in Belmore Street, Penrith, donated by Alderman T. Smith, and was adjoining the railway line. The building was made of iron on a concrete foundation, with a concrete floor. The foundation stone was laid on 30th April, 1890. This photograph was taken for an article which appeared in Town and Country Journal, June 7 1905.
