The village of St Marys developed along the Western Road or Great Western Highway between Pages and Mamre Road. A section of the main Western Road from Church Hill, where St Mary Magdalene stands, to Cummins' Hill (Quarry Hill, Werrington) was renamed to Victoria Street. This change had been mooted at a Council meeting in 1894.
