The Hooker Corporation began construction on the shopping centre in 1977. It opened on 6 September 1978. Originally called the Emu Plains Shopping Village Centre, its named was changed in 1984 to the Lennox Shopping Centre. In 1999 the centre was purchased by the Centro group and renamed Centro Lennox. It was refurbished in 2002.
