The police station was thought to have been built between 1867-78. In 1891 it was sold to 1st Class Police Constable William Bressington and it was occupied by the local policeman until the new police station was built in Punt Road in 1908. The building comprised a timber shingle roof with slab walls and was later clad with weatherboard and galvanised iron. It was destroyed by fire in August 1996.
