The Essex Picnic Ground or Essex Rest Grounds was situated between the Great Western Highway & Adelaide Street, St Marys. It was operated by Reg and Nance Halliday. The picnic grounds closed and the land eventually became Ridge Park and the Cecil Blinkhorn Memorial Oval. The identity of the people is not known.
