The left pylons support Victoria Bridge and the right pylons support the Penrith Rail Bridge. Victoria Bridge was also known as Nepean Road and Rail Bridge and was completed in 1867. In 1883 an iron fence was constructed to partition the train and road traffic. By the 1880's the bridge had become known as Victoria Bridge. The rail bridge was added to the north of the Victoria Bridge, with construction beginning in 1904. It opened to rail traffic in June 1907.
