From the early 1800s, the land of Dunheved was the site of a family homestead owned by the King family. The farm, known as Mrs King's Farm, was established from 1810 and from 1827 was occcupied by the family of Phillip Parker King. The house was demolished in 1946 as part of the development of a munitions depot.
