It is not known which code of football these player are from, given that there are thirteen men pictured it is presumed that this team is a rugby league team. Given that the names of the team members are from local Penrith families, it is also presumed that this team was from the Penrith district. Back row left to right are Ross Bootle, K. Thomas, Doug Taylor, person unknown and Bill Dukes. Centre row left to right are Rus Howe, Jack Dukes, Len Cattell and Joe Hatter. Front row left to right are George Randall, person unknown, Merve Bendell, person unknown and Ted Moorcroft.

This photo shows an Emu Plains rugby league team and taken at Dukes Oval.The player Ted Moorcroft served on the Kokoda Track during WW2. He was the brother of Sheila Moorcroft who was interviewed by Penrith library staff for Oral History which can be accessed through WPAC.
