Lennox Bridge, located in the Blue Mountains, was constructed by David Lennox, Sub-Inspector of Roads. The bridge workers partly consisted of 20 convicts selected by Lennox from the road gang and trained by him in stone work as they went along. The semi-circular stone arched bridge was completed in July 1833. It was part of the main road, west across the mountains until the Lapstone deviation opened in 1926. Road traffic continued to use the bridge until 1962 when it became structurally unsound. Restoration began in the late 1970s and the bridge was reopened in 1982. Until the Lapstone deviation of the Western Road was built, this bridge would have been called the Lapstone Bridge.
