The Federal Hotel was located on the northern side of High Street, Penrith opposite Fletchers. Opened in 1865 with licencee Michael Kelly, followed by Thomas Doyle who was there for 20 years. There were many licencees including the Flemming, the Belotti, the Doolan and the Mott families. In the last seven years Shedol Pty Ltd was the owner before it was demolished in 1976. The Penrith Arcade and walkway now sits in its original location.
