St Thomas' Church of England at Mulgoa was built on land donated by Edward Cox, with leading men of the district such as Nathanial Norton, Reverend Thomas Hassell and the Cox brothers forming a committee to raise money to build the church. The district raised £900. The foundation stone was laid in 1836, and built by Robert Drysdale building. Bishop Broughton consecrated St Thomas' on 13 September 1838.
