The house is believed to have been built in 1811-1812 for Charles Hadley. It is a two storey single pile building with a skillion at the rear, and is constructed of timber post and beam with brick infil panels. An early slab hut and timber wash house remain nearby. Hadley Park is believed to be the oldest building remaining in the Nepean Valley.
