Memory Park, Penrith

1970
Archives
The idea for a war memorial came about in 1915 but didn't eventuate until 1922 when Memory Park was opened by the State Governor Sir Walter Davidson. The park included a rotunda, seven honour tablets and two large trophy guns. The rotunda was demolished in 1972. The park is located on the corner of High and Woodriff Streets, Penrith. At the time of the photograph, Woodriff Street went through to Henry Street.
