This site was believed to have been the location of a Cobb and Co agency established by John Perry in the 1850's. Prior to being the Keg Restaurant, it was known as Denny's.
In the late 1980's and early 1990's The Keg was one of the most popular restaurants in town. By the mid-1990's it couldn't keep up with the changing habits of diners, and the chain disappeared. The old building is still standing in 2022, now derelict.
