Edward Edwards died on 28 July 1893 aged 29 years. It is a white marble Gothic headstone with a sandstone kerb and a fence of cast and wrought iron surrounding the grave. The headstone was erected by his comrades on the Great Western Railway. He died from injuries received at Blackheath.
