Sir John Northcott, Governor of New South Wales, lays the foundation stone and commemorative plaque at the site of the new Nepean District Hospital. The hospital opened in May 1956 with patients moving in, in June of the same year. The hospital has since undergone major renovations and additions, adding many more medical services.
