George Nash's first store was in Railway House on the corner of High and Lawson Street which closed in 1886. In 1891 he purchased land on the southern side of High Street, east of Station Street. There he established this store which was also called Penrith House. George died in 1899 and the business was continued by his son John. The business was sold to Minnie Everingham in 1917 and its name was changed to Everingham's. The people in the photograph may be members of the Nash family.
