Vincent and Caroline arrived in Penrith in 1930. In June 1938 they leased Avondell at 239 High Street Penrith. Avondell was built by Michael Reid who established a bakery next door. It was sold to William Walker who leased it to Vincent O'Farrell. The bakery became O'Farrell's Bakery. Vincent died on 21 December 1966 and Caroline died on 26 January 1986. They are both buried in the Penrith General Cemetery.
