The property of Glenmore and its house was own by Henry & Frances Cox in 1825, however by 1851, due financial difficulties, Henry was forced to sell to Thomas Sutcliffe Mort. In 1854 it was sold to James Riley who refurbished the home and added the southern wing. In 1904 Glenmore became a select school for young ladies.
