The original St Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church was started in 1839 and took 11 years to build. The church was demolished in April 1966 to make way for this new St Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church. It was officially opened and blessed by Cardinal Gilroy on 30 April 1967. The architect was Brian Curtin.
