This ambulance station was designed by T. W. Hodgson and built by E. T. Ohlsson. It was built in 1936, on land donated by Frederick Jones. The original station included an ambulance garage, first aid room, and staff facilities on the ground floor, and a four bedroom residence on the first floor. The facilities were enlarged in 1970. A new ambulance station opened in April 2017 at the eastern end of High Street.
