Ethel Grace Whatson (nee Moody) was the wife of Frederick Manning Whatson the son of local school teachers Frederick and Amy Whatson. Frederick and Amy taught at Orchard Hills Public School from 1910 to 1919 and Castlereagh Public School from 1929-1937.
