Archives
Victoria Bridge or Nepean Bridge was the third bridge across the Nepean River and was completed in June 1867. It began operation as a rail bridge only with traffic being punted across the river by ferry. The bridge opened to road traffic in 1869 when the timber span was replaced by an iron span. This stretch of the river was also part of the championship rowing course.
