Unveiling Commemorative Memorial Cairn at Lee Holme Tribute to Explorer Gregory Blaxland

This sandstone monument was erected in 1938 by the residents of St Marys, and inscribed: - ";Here on South Creek was Gregory Blaxland's Farm. From it, on May 11, 1813, he set out with William Lawson and William Wentworth attended by four servants, with four pack-horses and five dogs on the first expedition that crossed the Blue Mountains."; It is situated at Lee Holme on the southern side of South Creek on the western side of Luddenham Road.
