This sandstone memorial cairn was erected by the residents of St Marys and is inscribed: "In this vicinity is Mamre, once the country estate of the Reverend Samuel Marsden, missioner, magistrate and farmer, who died at Windsor on May 12 1838. erected to commemorate his services to the wool industry."
