This church, also known at St. Stephen the Martyr Church is located in High Street, Penrith. The land was a grant to the Superintendent John Best. In 1824 the land was sold to John Tindale, who gave the deeds to the church at it's consecration in 1839. The church's foundation stone was laid in 1837. The first Rector was Reverend Henry Fulton.
