St. Stephen's Anglican Church also known as St. Stephen's Church of England and St Stephen the Martyr. This church was opened in 1840 and is located in High Street, Penrith. John Tindale provided the land for the church and cemetery, with locals collecting subscriptions to pay for the building of the church. James Houison was the architect. Bishop Broughton laid the foundation stone on 22 November 1837 returning on 16 July 1839 to consecrate the church. Henry Fulton was the first minister.
