This photograph is of City Park which includes seating and a walkway using heritage bricks. In the mid-1800s, bricks were made at the St Marys brickyard - The Nepean Brick and Tile Company. It was owned and operated by local businessman William Fleming from 1866 until 1897. His bricks were stamped with the letter ‘F’ or a diamond to make them easily distinguishable, which can now be seen at City Park. Former Rodley House in Penrith was built with these bricks, some of which were salvaged and now used in City Park's brick walkway. Some bricks were also recycled from John Price & Son funeral home, and used in the pavement around the sunken rain garden. Prior to construction of City Park the funeral home was situated on the corner of Station and Henry Street where the City Park is now.
