Robert Stevenson Biography File

Published biographical information on Robert Stevenson, the son of James and Maud Stevenson of Cambridge Park. A member of the Royal Australian Naval Reserve, he was mobilized for service by proclamation and reported for duty 31 March 1941.  He was originally on the HMAS Rushcutter, and then transferred in May 1941 to the HMAS Cerberus.  On the 15 September 1941 he was transferred to the HMAS Sydney.  On 19 November 1941, HMAS Sydney was lost following a battle with the German raider HSK Kormoran in the Indian Ocean.  He was 17 at the time of his death.
