Ordinary Meeting. Corrrespondence - Letter from Registrar General's office requesting a return showing the estimated and annual value of of rateable property in Penrith, also the receipts and disbursements. The Mayor stated that he had received a letter of resignation from the Council Clerk, but had forgotten to bring it to the meeting. Ald Price moved that the letter be received, but the resignation not be accepted until the forthcoming election was over. The Works Committee recommended payments to Chadwick, Kilgannon, Willett, Armstrong, and Braithwaite. The Finance Committee recommended payments to John Squires for salary, Chadwick, Kilgannon, Willett, Artmstrong and Braithwaite. Report received from Inspector of Nuisances - the following persons fined - William Dent, Thomas Smith Senr, George Caruthers, John Thurston, Kate Ryan. Alderman Besley was appointed as Returning Officer. Applications were to be called for the position of Council Clerk, Collector of Rates and Treasurer to the Council, and all applications received were to be considered next meeting. Further meeting to be held next Monday to discuss a matter connected with the Revision Court. Council then rose.
