Thomas Carter was driving Mrs Priddle's sociable up from the river about 9 o'clock, carrying lights on both sides, when opposite Joyce's he noticed a sulky being driven rather rapidly, coming towards him. Tom had his horses' heads hanging over the footpath when the other ran into him, the result being a collision in which the long sulky shaft caught the sociable shaft, besides going through the dashboard.
