NO DEMAND - NO TELEPHONE

Articles
A public telephone for Cutler Ave, St Marys promised in 1967, will not now be installed. The Postmaster-General, Mr A S Hulme, told the Federal Member for Prospect, Dr R E Klugman, that the phone had been promised following a petition from local residents. He said shortages of equipment caused by vandalism had made it impossible to install the service. The installation was now cancelled because of insufficient demand from residents.
