A plan to build housed at Claremont Meadows has been moving at a snail's pace due to an important inhabitant in the area - The housing development at Gipps St has been on hold while National Parks and Wildlife and Penrith Council assess whether the development of homes and roads would affect the threatened large land snail, which lives on the site - Cumberland Plains woodland on the site is also an issue - Councillor David Bradbury said although it was important to assess the effects on the snail, the project had been 'really taking a long time' which was a 'shame' and he hoped it could be advanced expediently.
