Nepean High School, Emu Plains, will celebrate it's 40th birthday in 2003 - The school on the Great Western Highway, was built in 1963, in an era when the Penrith Council district was beginning to grow rapidly - After World War 2, many people moved to the country to live in Penrith, & we had a number of residents who had come to Australia from other countries - Emu Plains had been part of the Blue Mountains Council - After it was acquired by Penrith Council, housing estates, schools & facilities were built.
