The St Marys community will send Christmas hampers to families in a small northen NSW town struggling with the effect of the drought - The local community is hoping to raise enough money to send at least 300 hampers to Boggabri, a town with a population of about 900, halfway between Gunnedah & Narrabri - The drought is putting a lot pressure on people, they are becoming physically & mentally tired as the town has had no rain for over 12 months - The fundraising will provide them with something for Christmas because some of them are going to have very lean Christmas & hopefully this will make it a bit better for them.
