Matsushita Electric Company Australia Pty Ltd (MELCOA), was established in 1968 at the request of the then Australian Government, to participate in the Australian Consumer Electrical Industry - Production commenced in 1969 with the manufacturing of black & white TV sets with colour sets being introduced in 1975.
