GRAVE DANGERS TO SWIMMERS - NEPEAN RIVER

Articles
Police have warned of serious danger to swimmers in the Nepean River at Castlereagh. This follows a drowning in the vicinity of Devlins Lane. Police wrote to Penrith Council saying that during the search for the body, it was noted that sandbank areas were not firm. The sandbanks were dangerous to people wading, & to poor swimmers in need of a rest, the letter said. Ald S J Dwyer moved that signs be erected at both Devlins Road and Jacksons Lane.
